George III Period 1760-1820
This period spans the golden age of classical English furniture design. Whilst Royal patronage was still very important, increasing numbers of the aristocracy and fashionable classes were building great country mansions and town houses which needed furnishing. The greatest names in furniture design therefore flourished in the second half of the 18th century.
