An unusual early 19th Century cast iron Inkwell, in the form of Sir John Fallstaff, the head lifting off to reveal the sander (the torso) and the torso lifting off to reveal the inkwell. The figure supported on a plinth base inscribed 'So lag ich und so fülirte ich meine Klinge ' which is a quote, 'Thus I lay and Thus I brandish my blade, ' from Shakespeare 's play Henry IV Part 1.
