Tables - Pembroke

These tables tend to be rectangular or oval and are characterised by two hinged flaps along their long sides which can be raised or lowered depending on requirements, and in most examples, a drawer in the short side. They are extremely versatile and were made from the late 18th century into the 19th century in various woods including mahogany & satinwood. They often have cross-banding in contrasting woods & intricate inlaid designs. To aid movement they usually have castors.
